    • 18th Annual Chili Mac/Spaghetti Dinner April 18th

      Dear Friends in Workers' Justice:

We are happy to announce our 18th Annual Fundraiser & Chili Mac/Spaghetti Dinner on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Monroe Street United Methodist Church, 3613 Monroe St. Toledo, OH 43606. Thanks for the support you have given us in the past. Without you it would not have been possible for Toledo JwJ to have succeeded in supporting workers’ justice and getting voters to the polls. Please consider becoming a sponsor of our 2024 dinner at the highest possible level ($150, $250, $500) to support the value Toledo Area Jobs with Justice brings to your particular issue or organization. Sponsorships will be recognized at the dinner. Tickets will be held at the door with the price set at $25 per adult and $6 for low-income individuals and children under 12. Your check should be made payable to Toledo Area Jobs with Justice and mailed to PO Box 13048, Toledo, Ohio 43613. In addition, this year we will be able to accept credit and debit card purchases..

We can’t wait to get back together to celebrate and visit with you, our friends. By making this fundraising effort a success, you strengthen our worker justice actions. Please plan to attend the Chili Mac/Spaghetti Dinner (vegetarian available).  We promise great food, a great time and great fellowship. Thanks for your support.

      Who We Are

Please consider joining Toledo Area Jobs with Justice & Interfaith Worker Justice Coalition (JwJ). We are a grassroots, volunteer organization committed to worker justice. Toledo JwJ is one of 40 chartered members of the National Jobs with Justice Network and National Interfaith Worker Justice Coalition.

Since its inception in 2002, Toledo Jobs with Justice has been instrumental in working to improve the rights of workers and residents throughout the community. Activities which Jobs with Justice either directly sponsored or actively co-sponsored include:

Bridge the Gap for Healthcare; Campaign for Ohio’s Future; Healthcare Action Day; Erase the Hate; Sunoco Snubs Local Workers Campaign; Boycott of Mt Olive Pickles; Budget Cut Olympics; March for Freedom and Justice; Toledo City Council Point of Sale Ordinance; Call to Renewal Bus Tour; and numerous protests of Wal-Mart, Job Losses and the effects of Outsourcing, Minimum Wage and Protecting Collective Bargaining Rights.

Toledo Area Jobs with Justice has a monthly Steering Committee meeting on the fourth Monday of each month. Organizations are encouraged to ask members to support Jobs with Justice Actions and sign Jobs with Justice Pledge Cards. The Pledge is to come out 5 times a year in support of someone else’s struggle. With your active support, we can continue to show the effects of these issues on the whole community. This organization of labor, social justice, faith communities and individuals is uniquely positioned to shift the workers’ justice debate to issues at the heart of family and community values. Together we can and are making a difference.

      Yours,

      Tom Galloway – Labor Chair
Rev. Dr. Larry Clark – Faith Chair
Petee Talley - Social Justice Chair

      Bob Lynn Jr. – Secretary
